HP 8200 Elite Small Form Factor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all--

I am using an HP 8200 Elite Small Form Factor at my office.  I have an Acer monitor that has resolution at 2560x1440.  My HP integrated graphics only go to 1920x1080.  It has HDNMI/Displayport/VGA.   My IT guy is using me as a test for our office upgrade to Windows 10.

I'd like a video card that will let me use my monitor at its intended resolution, at a decent refresh rate.  I'm not gaming; only using it for Office/Outlook/Chrome.

Thanks!!!

Hi:

I installed a nVidia GT1030 in my 8200 Elite CMT and it works fine.

The specs call for a 300W power supply and the 8200 Elite SFF's is 240W, but the card only draws 30W of power, so I think it would work just fine in the SFF too.

The resolution exceeds what you need...

I bought this particular card...

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Passive-Graphics-02G-P4-6332-KR/dp/B073VPKV26/ref=sr_1_1?hvadid=...

If you want to opt for an older card that uses less power, then go for the GT 710.  It only draws 19W of power.

I have the GT 730 in my other 8200 Elite CMT and that works fine too.   So if the GT 730 works, the GT 710 will work too.

The resolution on this card still exceeds what you need.

I had ordered this card: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DOFD0G8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm concerned about the 24 hz refresh rate via HDMI.  The 1030 is on sale now on Amazon--should i go for that one?

thanks again!

You're very welcome.

I don't know anything about the refresh rate specs.

You'll have to decide about that.

I just know the GT 1030 should work for you.

If it has a better refresh rate out of the HDMI port, then you may want to order the GT 1030.

Anytime.

Please post back and let us know how the video card upgrade went.

I will, thanks.  I take it that the Asus is an equally good choice as is the card you referenced?

HP Recommended

Yes, that should be fine.

Asus makes good video cards.
