Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I added a Radeon R7 250 video card into my pci-e slot and windows is not detecting it.  I downloaded the drivers updated my pc still nothing. 

 

Any suggestions ?

@Samurai7 , welcome to the forum.

 

The problem that you are experiencing is caused by the incompatibility of the video card and the motherboard.  The newer video cards require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard/Legacy BIOS.  HP began using UEFI in mid-October, 2012.  Your computer was released in September, 2011.  I suggest contacting the video card manufacturer's Tech Support to see if they have a VBIOS update that will allow the card to work with both.

there is not Update from Pegatron i cant find it, i beleive it is a OEM supplier.

in HP utility under boot order i do see UEFI and Legacy options to enable and disable.  Does this mean it supports both?

No, your computer should not have UEFI.  As I stated, HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012 and this was with Windows 8, not Windows 7.  Your computer came from the factory with Win 7 installed.  The BIOS can't be upgraded to UEFI.  It is a different system completely.  Read the guide that I provided in the link in red titled UEFI in my first post.
