Hi
I currently have a fairly old GTX 760 192 bit graphics card in my desktop which is getting a bit old for current graphics requirements. As my HP ENVY 700-060ea Desktop PC is itself not the newest and has a 450W power supply. limited internal space and ultimately needs replacing, I thought I would buy a GTX 1660 to last me for a year or two before I upgrade the entire rig. My question is around the power supply for the card -
My GTX 760 has a 6 pin power connector whereas the GTX 1660 requires (it seems) an 8 pin power connector. Does my model of Desktop have an 8 pin connector or is it so old (circa 2013/14) that it only has 6 pin connectors for graphics card slots and therefore will never fit a card that requires an 8 pin power supply?
Many thanks
Steve

Look at the existing PCIe power plug. It is a plain 6 pin, or is it a 6+2 pin. There are adapters from 6 pin to 8 pin, as shown here.
As the GTX is a 170W card, and the GTX 1660 is a 130W card, your OK with the existing PSU.
