The PCI Express 3.0 x16 video cards are backward compatible to PCI Express 2.0.  However, I am not certain the the card you want to buy will work in your computer if it requires UEFI in the motherboard isntead of a Legacy (standard) BIOS.  HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid_October, 2012.  I believe that you have already upgraded the PSU or plan to upgrade it.  I suggest that you contact Sapphire's Tech Support to make certain that it will work.
