Hi:
You probably have to go into the BIOS and change 2 settings prior to installing your new video card.
See this link for the instructions on what settings to change...

If the PC came with W7, then the info I posted is not applicable.
Most likely the video card is not compatible with the BIOS version your PC has.
Although secure boot should be set to disabled by default.
Since I don't know what video cards are compatible with your PC, unfortunately, I won't be able to help you with the issue you are having.

Hi,
Open up a command prompt and enter: MSINFO32
If the BIOS level is not version 8 then you will need to update the BIOS. Follow Paul's suggestions if you do a BIOS update.
The 300 watt PSU in your PC may not have enough power for your unknown make and model of the Radeon RX 560. The high powered RX 560 will require a 400+ watt power supply with a 6 pin power connector. Check the your graphics card. I surmise that you have the lower powered RX 560 but then you never know out here on this forum.

Hi,
Why not try the RX 560 if your PC is running the version 8 BIOS? The only reason that the RX 560 wouldn't work is if it's defective or the vBIOS was updated to make it not compatible with a HP verson 8 BIOS.
