My HP Omen 40L desktop crashed and now when I turn it on, one of the two RAM sticks won't turn on. I don't know if opening the side panel will cause the voiding of my warranty. About the issue, my screen froze and a high-pitch buzzing was heard in my headset. I had to turn it of with the desktop's power button. After turning it back on, the screen didn't turn on and a Morse code (3 long 2 short) played, while one ram stick wasn't emiting light.

I recommend that you contact HP customer service starting at the link below and get an answer from HP.
If HP informs you that it is OK to open up the PC and troubleshoot the memory problem (or you decide to throw caution to the wind), below is the link to the service teardown video:
