@paulsway,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Your HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-3007na PC (8D6W9EA) as per: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c08703668, says it is fitted with a BohemiaCR motherboard (SSID: 8648) and an i7-12700, but according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06639986, is fitted with a Celeron J4025 (2-Cores, 2-Threads, 2.00 GHz up to 2.90 GHz) processor.

That can't be right.

The Celeron is a mediocre CPU, barely suited for basic tasks such as word processing and web browsing -that is, make sure you don't open more than three tabs, but I digress. In other words, the aforementioned link either got it wrong, or you got a different motherboard -please verify.

Anyway, it looks like your desktop is fitted with a 310-watt power supply (please verify), which means that you can fit a GTX 1650 Super (you'll need to buy a dual 15-pin SATA to 6-pin PCIe power cable adapter to power this card), or a GTX 1650, GTX 1050 Ti, RX 6400, RTX A2000, GTX 1060 (also needs the aforementioned adapter cable).

Hope this was helpful.

Hi @NonSequitur777

Wow, a dual 15-pin SATA to 6-pin PCIe power cable adapter when you need this PCIe connector.

Never thought of checking for this part.

This option enhances graphics card upgrade options when you have the power but don't have the PCIe connector included with the PSU.

Kudos!

@Bill_To,

Yip, as long as your power supply matches or exceeds the graphics card's minimum power supply recommendation, you're good to go:

One of many online purchase examples: Amazon.com: 6 Pin PCIe to Dual SATA 15 Pin Male Power Cable, 2X 15-Pin SATA Male to 6 Pin PCI-Expres....

Kind Regards,
