Hi @Bosco13131951,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand you’d like to add another SSD to your HP M03-0064 Omnidesk desktop PC. Let’s go through the steps to check compatibility and properly install the new drive.
a. Verify Supported SSD Type
The HP M03-0064 Omnidesk typically supports:
One M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (for your main system drive).
One or more 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives (for additional storage).
Check your current setup in File Explorer → This PC → Right-click → Manage → Disk Management to see which drive slots are already in use.
b. Check Available Slots
Power off the PC and unplug the power cable.
Open the side panel carefully.
Look for:
An M.2 slot on the motherboard (small horizontal slot, often near the RAM slots or CPU area).
SATA ports on the motherboard and drive bays for 2.5"/3.5" SSDs.
If the M.2 slot is already occupied, you can still add a 2.5" SATA SSD using an available SATA data and power cable.
c. Choose the Right SSD
For faster performance: Add an NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (if slot available).
For extra storage: Use a 2.5" SATA SSD.
Recommended brands: Samsung, WD, Crucial, Kingston.
Capacity depends on your needs (typically 500GB–2TB).
d. Installation Steps
Turn off and unplug your PC.
Ground yourself (touch a metal surface to discharge static).
For M.2 SSD:
Locate the slot → insert the SSD at a 30° angle → press down and secure it with the small screw.
For 2.5" SATA SSD:
Mount it in an empty 2.5" drive bay or adapter bracket.
Connect one SATA data cable to the motherboard and one SATA power cable from the PSU.
Close the side panel and reconnect power.
e. Initialize the New SSD
Boot into Windows.
Open Disk Management (Win + X → Disk Management).
A prompt will appear to initialize the new disk — choose GPT (recommended).
Right-click the unallocated space → New Simple Volume → Next → Assign drive letter → Format as NTFS.
The drive will then appear in This PC.
I hope this helps.
