HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV)

I want to buy a new graphics card. I have had an HP desktop before and found out the hard way that I can't just buy any old power supply thingy ( I suck at PC upgrades ), so I'm looking for some help with upgrading my graphics card (for reference I want to play a game called Rust). I believe my PC specs are in my profile, so feel free to look there. Any help is appreciated<3 Sorry if my message doesn't look great.

@Wezzybee,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV) is most likely fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) -please verify by typing: System Information, click on the System Information app, and look to the right of "BaseBoard Product", which will show you the "SSID" number.

Assuming you got a 310-watt power supply (please identify), there are two power supply upgrades available: a 400-watt power supply with p/n: L69242-800, which can be purchased online, such as via an eBay Seller, or a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L81009-800 (L77487-001 / L89233-001), which can be purchased online, such as via an eBay Seller.

Here are some budget-conscious graphics card options: with a 400-watt power supply, you can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 3050 8GB model, such as this one: MSI RTX 3050 VENTUS 2X Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database, which can be purchased for under $200 via Amazon: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3050 8GB GDRR6 128-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fans Ampere OC Gr... and one of the best graphics cards you could pair with a 400-watt power supply would be a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4060 8GB model, such as this one: ASUS DUAL RTX 4060 V2 Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database, which can be purchased under $300, such as via Amazon: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDRR6 Extreme Clock: 2505 MHz 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink TOR....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@Wezzybee,

Well, yes, it is good: this is a 400-watt power supply equipped with one 6+2-pin PCIe power cable, which means that you can go ahead and upgrade your graphics card as discussed.

So sorry to continue but will the https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RTX-4060-Architecture-2X/dp/B0C8BPW1SP/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.fZjR9d... fit in my pc? idk how you would know but if you can find out then thank you. My pc is just the default from when I bought it the only difference is the two 8 GB RAM sticks I put in.

@Wezzybee,

The MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X Black 8GB will fit in your desktop and can be powered by your HP 400-watt power supply.

You can ascertain that yourself, as the dimensions of this card are: Length: 199 mm, Height: 120 mm and Width: 41 mm.

Here is an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2xxx (SSID: 8906) User whose rig is likely fitted with a Gigabyte RTX 4060 Windforce OC 8GB which has almost the same dimensions (192 x 120 x 41mm) as the MSI RTX 4060 model [EDIT]: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark.
