Hi! Today I ran into the issue, I bought the graphics card shown above and tried to put it into my computer, only to find that I couldnt properly place it in because the plug to the motherboard was preventing the card to fully instert. Is there any (preferebly cheaper) card I can put in this computer??

I'm not up to date on graphics cards at all, so I would lean towards something with similar specs and power requirements that physically is much different than the one that wouldn't fit properly.  Or just step it down a notch to find one that fits.  At this point, finding one that fits seems to be the issue vs specs.

Inevitably, this is just one of those things you really can't plan for unless you know your motherboard to the T as well as the card you wish to purchase--something that is next to impossible.

So this is one of those fundamental incompatibilities that inevitably happen in computers.  My advice would be to try the 2nd choice card you were planning to purchase and return this one.

See, that would be the option I would go with if Fry's Electronics didnt deem the Card "Nonreturnable". Not to mention the the second one looks as if it would be too long to fit.

Why did they deem it nonreturnable?  You should have the original packaging and everything. :Surprise:

@SamirD,

Fry's has a different return policy for instore and mail-order.

In store purchase is 0% return.  Mail order is returnable, see policy.

We have a Frys locally, and from what I've seen in-store as well as the policy you linked to, there's no real problem getting a refund credit within 30 days.  And from my experience, most places will even give you a credit after 30 days, which is really what the OP needs to just get a replacement card.

@SamirD,

What single slot card would you recommend?
