HP Pavilion 590-p0047c
Microsoft Windows 11

I installed a Samsung SSD980 NVMe card into my Pavilion 590-p0047c and I cannot get my bios, or Windows, to detect it.

What type of card do I need?

It definitely supports NVMe (PCIe 4x). I received my HP EX900 SDD NVMe today and installed it. I'm presently in the process of install a new/clean copy of Windows 10 on the new SDD. Had one issue with it being formatted as MBR instead of GPT, but I was able to fix that using diskpart OS utility.

So, you're saying that the Samsung drive won't work, it has to be an HP part? And, the 595 is the same as the 590?

you said you tried a model, and it didn't work, correct?
i would tell you to try bios update but so much problem with it here..
I give you two links, mainly the second, a tested and approved model, which works
the first, crucial model, indicated compatible, but no answer, so I cannot certify that it works

I updated the bios during the first hour that I started working on this. I tried to contact HP tech support but they won't talk to me because my PC is out of warranty. Well, how can I ask a simple question like "what part can I buy from HP to make it work?" I can see that no one in this community actually knows the answer to my problem, just a lot of guessing. But I do appreciate it, don't get me wrong. I guess if HP techs don't know the answer, who does?
