OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000i (393C6AV)

So basically, my PC's screen has turned black and the fans rev up to like 100%. I looked around and found out that the issue may be I don't have ample amount of power. I recently upgraded to a 4K monitor so I am very sure it's a lack of Watts. All I know is that I have around 800Ws but I don't know the dimensions or company that created my PSU. Please tell me the dimensions and what company created my PSU, I would like to replace it with a Corsair 1000W or 1200W PSU  if possible. I can give more information if needed...

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

You can use any ATX power supply that fits in the case. A 800 watt or higher power supply is okay. You don't need a higher wattage PSU.

 

I would contact HP Support if your PC is in warranty.

 

You do have a component problem. But the power supply may not be the culprit. You could buy a power supply and still see the same symptoms.

 

You will have to troubleshoot components to see if you can isolate the faulty component(s).

Only connect a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. You could then also only connect a monitor to check for a good POST.

Next, reduce the PC to a minimum config using only core components required to get a good POST.

 

Suggested minimum PC configuration:

- Power supply

- MB and CPU

- Try each stick of HP factory installed RAM, one at a time, in each memory slot.

- Try onboard graphics if the CPU and MB I/O support this option.

- Try no RAM to check for a missing RAM POST error code.

Note: not seeing a POST RAM error message usually indicates a: PSU, MB, or CPU problem.

Next, swap in different, known good, remaining core components, one at a time, until the system will POST.

 

I would use the PC warranty if applicable. Or have a local PC Tech take a look if you want to save money.
