Hello, I am going to be getting a GPU but in order to do so, I need a better PSU that is compatible with my Computer. (Preferably a 300-400 Watt PSU. : Specs: i3-7100, 8GB of RAM, 1TB HDD (not in use) 256GB SSD (in use), Motherboard is a HP 82F2 (Lubin). I don't know what PSU I have. as it isn't listed on Speccy, or on System Information.

I am getting this GPU:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071L4VKF6?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

I was also eyeing this PSU, would it be compatible? https://www.newegg.com/coolmax-v-400-400w/p/N82E16817159045

Thank You! 🙂

@fergyboy,

The HP 570-series with the Lubin motherboard typically had a 24 pin standard ATX PSU.  The MSI GT1030 is a low power 30W card. Was there a reason for this card?  Were you guessing?  Anyway, in the 300-400 W range, its 1 year warranties. The  Corsair CX 450    has a 5 year warranty.

The reason for this card is because its good for the price. I don't play games that are hard to run, so that's the main reason.

I am only going to be having this system for another 3 years. its not worth it to me to get a $70 PSU.  Other than the warranty only being 1-year what's wrong with the one I sent?

@fergyboy,

At least get a PSU with at least 2 SATA power plugs, not 4 molex that need adapters.

I just have 1 issue with that PSU. the Fan is facing upwards. but my PSU is mounted. so it would just be blowing at the ceiling of the case.

Thank You
