HP Pavilion Power Desktop 580-1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

@Fragglecaster,

Why did you list the computer as 580-1xx.  Did you not think it was important ? Or were you misguided by" prompt".  I ask because it is an issue.   What is the exact model number of this HP 580. No one can lookup the specs without it.

Free slots require an EXACT match.  You would need 2.

Thank you for the information and the suggested RAM modules.

It's a HP Pavilion 580-110nd. I didn't include it because the HP Support Assistent wouldn't show this. So now I went into my email to find a 2,5 year old invoice.

Does this info change anything?

@Fragglecaster,

Your HP 580-110nd has 4 RAM slots, and 2 have an 8 GB module. To upgrade to 32 GB (4x 8 GB) you must find the same modules.

 This is what you have installed. part number 860399-800

Memory - RAM, GNRC, UDIMM 8G DDR4 1.2V 2400   --------

you would need 2 pieces, googling shows a price of $85 USD each.

 optional if you want slightly faster RAM, you would need 4 pieces of part number 934254-800

Memory – RAM, GNRC, UDIMM 8G DDR4 1.2V 2666

Memory upgrade information

  • Dual channel (2 DIMMs per channel) memory architecture
  • Four DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets
  • Supports PC4-19200 (DDR4-2400)
  • Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs
  •
  • Supports up to 32 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers
