HP OmniDesk Desktop AI PC M03-0000i (A9UU1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The motherboard on my OmniDesk Desktop AI PC has a 4-pin SATA PWR0 port. I don't know what cable I need to buy to go from the motherboard to the 15-pin power connector on an internal HDD. Ideally, I'd like to be able to power two HDDs from the single motherboard power connector (motherboard has two SATA data ports).4-pin SATA Power port4-pin SATA Power port

Hi @johnnyhjazz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're looking to power two internal HDDs from your OmniDesk Desktop AI PC's 4-pin SATA PWR0 port. Here's how you can achieve this:

1. Understanding the 4-Pin SATA PWR0 Port

The 4-pin SATA PWR0 port on your motherboard is designed to supply power to SATA devices. Typically, this port provides a 12V output, which is suitable for powering SATA hard drives.

2. Choosing the Right Cable

To connect your 4-pin SATA PWR0 port to the 15-pin power connector on your HDDs, you will need a cable that:

Has a 4-pin male connector to plug into the PWR0 port.

Splits into two 15-pin female connectors to power two HDDs.

Such cables are commonly referred to as "4-pin SATA to dual 15-pin SATA power splitter cables." They are designed to distribute power from a single 4-pin source to multiple SATA devices.

3. Recommended Cable

Based on your requirements, the EverCool EC-ST004 50cm 4Pin Molex to Dual 15pin SATA Power Cable is an excellent choice. This cable converts a 4-pin Molex (which is compatible with your PWR0 port) to two 15-pin SATA power connectors, allowing you to power two HDDs simultaneously.

4. Installation Steps

Power Down Your PC: Ensure your computer is completely powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet.

Connect the 4-Pin End: Plug the 4-pin male connector of the cable into the 4-pin SATA PWR0 port on your motherboard.

Connect the 15-Pin Ends: Attach the two 15-pin female connectors to the power inputs of your two HDDs.

Secure the Cable: Route the cable neatly within your PC case to avoid obstruction of airflow or interference with other components.

Power On Your PC: Reconnect your computer to the power outlet and turn it on. Your HDDs should now receive power and be operational.

5. Additional Considerations

Cable Length: Ensure the cable length is adequate to reach both HDDs without strain.

Power Supply Capacity: Verify that your power supply unit (PSU) can handle the additional load of two HDDs. Most modern PSUs can support multiple drives, but it's always good to check.

Cable Quality: Opt for cables from reputable manufacturers to ensure safety and reliability.

I hope this helps.
