Hp all in one desktop

So, my daughter had a school issued laptop that had a power cord/charger that looked very similar to the power cord/adapter for our HP All in one desktop. We believe she turned in the wrong cord with her school device last year because when we tried to use this cord the computer made loud beeping sounds when turned on. Can anyone tell me what type of computer this hp power cord goes to??? I cannot figure out how to include a picture and I’m not sure what info from the label to include, there is no wattage #or part # that I see.

I would guess that if you turned in the wrong cord, the cord you have belongs to the computer / notebook that was returned to the school.

A better question might be:  Which power cord do you need for the computer that you have now?

These are generally similar to one another, though as you have found, they may not all be the same thing.

To find the answer, to "which cord for current system", determine what kind of computer you have, that is, the model name of the computer.

Next:

The computer has its own support website.

The part numbers for the components in the computer are generally located the maintenance and service guide.  Most computers provide manuals, though in the case of "all in one" systems, the data is sometimes pretty limited.

No joy?

Another place to look is in the Part Surfer catalog for your device (computer).

In some cases, where the details are available, there are pictures included with the part descriptions / numbers.

 Open PartSurfer

  • Select your Country
  • Need Help?  Tab Self help > find and open the User Guide and FAQ

Use Part Surfer:

  • Enter your device Product Number , Serial Number, or Part Number in the Quick Search box
  • HINT: To see a system-specific list, replace the Product Number with your device Serial Number
  • Items accompanied by a tiny box in the Add-to-Cart column are available for purchase
  • N/A means the part is not carried / offered for purchase by HP.

Parts marked as available for purchase might be available from:  HP Parts Store

OR

Use your search engine to find the part number at your favorite online store.
