I tried to do my homework to figure out what models would fit in the M2 slot of an Elitedesk 805 G6 and I failed. I searched the forums and came up with only questions and no answers. Why is it so difficult? (don't actually answer that 😉 ).

The model I bought is an M2 card 2230 Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 WLAN / Bluetooth. I enabled the M2 Bluetooth option in the firmware setup. The card is not visible in Linux or Windows. Both should automatically detect it, but even in Linux I cannot find it with, there's no message in kernel logs (dmesg), lspci and lsusb show nothing. I loaded the kernel modules anyways and did some troubleshooting but it just doesn't work. In Windows in that hardware tree (under Manage) it shows no question marks and there is no WiFi, no Bluetooth.

I am mostly interested in Bluetooth, WiFi is a plus. And yes I know I can get a cheaper USB dongle but thats not what I want.

Can someone help me out here?

What I noticed in the firmware setup the option is called M2 USB Bluetooth. It makes no mention of WiFi. And I thought M2 was PCIe? Anyways, thats a little confusing.

Anyone know what would fit in that slot?

Thanks!

You're very welcome.

You may as well take your chances on it as long as the Intel SPS# on the card is L35282-005.

That denotes that the card is the non-vPro version.

vPro is only supported in Intel platforms with vPro technology.

I am willing to bet my bottom dollar that if you were able to order the HP L66872-001-part number, you would end up with the Intel L35282-005 SPS number on the card.

If that doesn't work either, then I don't see that you have any other option but to use a dual band USB Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter.

My 800 G3 DM did not come with built in Wi-Fi and no antenna wires either, so I bought this USB device which works great.

I can only find an EliteDesk 805 G6 DM specification sheet.

4aa7-8521enuc.pdf

The supported WLAN card was the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5 combo Wi-Fi adapter.

That should be one that has this HP part number:  L66872-001.

When you click on the part number, it shows it is used in the 805 G6.

It is expensive and out of stock.

My advice to you would be to see if this card works because this card and part number that HP installed in my notebook which has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor:

The below part number should be plentiful, and inexpensive.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

Thank you!

Do you reckon it will have to be HP original? I know that used to be case for everything but these days RAM, disks and other parts usually just work. This would be an exception I think.

The OEM AX200 is 13 euros, I might just take my chances. The AX210 I have is nearly the same and was 16 euros. I can trade it.

PS. For whatever reason does the parts site not show any search results for me. I tried different things. I just use firefox no special addons.
