There is no "combined" limit -- each disk-drive is independent.

The Other Person showed the maximum-size per disk-drive that you could have purchased directly from HP. That might be an old document that does not reflect the much-larger capacity of currently-available disk-drives.

Exactly what model-number & motherboard do you have? Years ago, motherboards limited the maximum size of each disk-drive to 2 Terabytes. But, current motherboards can support up to 8 TB per disk-drive.

How many SATA sockets do you have on the motherboard? One for the CD/DVD, and several more, for multiple HDD/SDD devices? That limits the number of disk-drives that you can connect. You could remove the CD/DVD hardware, and purchase an external CD/DVD that connects to a USB port, to free-up one SATA socket.   Also, you could add a PCIe card that has several SATA sockets.

What is the wattage of your computer's power-supply? If you are adding many disk-drives, you may need an upgrade to your power-supply.  Additionally, you will need many power-leads on the power-supply, to give power to each disk-drive.
