And to get back to you how to clone your old HDD to your new SSD: you'll need a SATA to USB adapter cable to connect your new SSD to your PC for the initial cloning (seen at time stamp 1:18 in the video link below), before you can swap drives.  Here is an eBay-France purchase option: Câble SATA to USB 3.0 Adaptateur 2,5" Convertisseur Connexion Disque Dur Données | eBay.

Yes, it is. Come to think of it, the other solution is to mount your new SSD inside your desktop by connecting it to another motherboard SATA data cable/port and connecting it to a SATA power cable. That way, you won't need a USB to SATA connector.
