Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000a (4H508AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02 and thought I would be able to play some more demanding games but apperantly not. For example, Mount and Blade Bannerlord is essentially unplayable but judging by the system requirements for that game i thought my PC would be more than able to handle that.

I upgraded RAM from 8 to 16GB but that didn't help at all. My question is thus what i should upgrade to be able to play more demanding games?

Thanks

@Justus_Lipsius,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

All right, let's figure this out.

It is not entirely clear what power supply, what processor and what graphics card your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000a (4H508AV) is equipped with as fitted with the Erica8 motherboard [SSID: 89D8]: https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=4H508AV.

Your PC could have a 350-watt, 400-watt or 500-watt power supply.

Your PC could have a Ryzen 5 5600G or a Ryzen 7 5700G.

Your PC could have a GTX 1150 Ti, RX 6400, or an RTX 3060 Ti.

Please let me know what you got under the hood, so to speak.

What I do know is that the recommend system requirements to play Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord are:

1.) An Intel Core i5-9600K translated that would be equivalent to the Ryzen 7 5700G

2.) An RX 580 or equivalent

Hi again, the processor i Have is an AMD Ryze 5 5500 and the graphics card is a NIVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB. The powersupply has 350 Watts

@Justus_Lipsius,

Your Ryzen 5 5500 is essentially identical in performance compared with the Ryzen 5 5600G and performs just a little bit less (2%) than the top compatible processor for your motherboard, the Ryzen 7 5700G.

Meaning, I don't think a processor upgrade is going to make much difference, unless you have the funds to max out on your CPU options.

Even though the RTX 3050 is a fine graphics card, I suspect that this is your gaming bottleneck.

One of the best and most affordable graphics card upgrade options ($359) at the moment -at least here in the US, would be a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 5060, as seen in this Amazon-US link: https://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-RTXTM-5060-Overclocked/dp/B0F4Z2DNH2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=81JO0EVENOFW....

This GPU upgrade would give you a very formidable graphics performance boost, and another advantage would be that this 145-watt TDP card should also be able to be powered by your 350-watt power supply -which is equipped with a 6+2-pin PCIe power cable.

There are, of course, a number of other GPU upgrades, but most of them require you to also upgrade your power supply.

Just a suggestion.

Kind Regards,
