I would get both, especially the splitter. These cables don't cost much anyway.
If it is the case that you're placing an order through eBay, then why not add the ATX 24-pin to SATA adapter card too, such as this one: Dual PSU Adapter ATX 24Pin to 4Pin SATA Power Sync Starter Card for M BLY | eBay.
You could find the very same items through Amazon, etc. -doesn't matter. I picked the eBay items assuming you live in the US. If you don't, then research your nation's eBay/Amazon equivalents.

If you have the time, look at my HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF upgrade link as posted earlier. It goes through every (not just the GPU power modification) upgrade step by step. Like I said, the main difference between your and my upgrade project would be that your GPU fits inside your desktop case, unlike for me, where I had to park my GPU (RTX 3080) outside my small form factor (SFF) case.

Just buy the splitter then, and see if you can make it work. Thing is, I don't know if the splitter's length will allow the ATX 24-pin to SATA power adapter to be placed outside your desktop -which happens to be my personal preference. If you can safely secure this adapter card inside your desktop, hey, go for it.
Warning: I don't know what the level of your computer modification skills/confidence is. In doubt, please have a knowledgeable individual review this power modification in person.
