HP Compaq 8200 Mini Tower i7-2600 16gb ram
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey guys!

Im trying to work out what graphics card would fit into my HP 8200 Mini Tower. I’ve looked at a few such as; 1050ti, GTX 960 2gb and also GTX 1060. But I am unsure if it will fit in my pc and unsure if it will run as I’ve seen talk about PCI ports and I’m new to PCs and not really sure what any of it means.

Hopefully you can help me out, it would be much appreciated. Please ask questions if I haven’t been specific enough.

Thank you!

Hi, Louie:

These two videos seem to indicate you can install the 1050ti or the 950.

I have the GT1030 in mine, which works fine.

The 960 or 1060 won't work because it requires a supplemental 6 pin power connector which the 8200 Elite does not have.

Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for getting back to me!

I will have a watch of those videos. Also I have found a Gigabyte GTX 1050ti which I’m wondering if it will fit because I am unsure if it has that 6 pin connector you said.

here’s the link to the GPU - https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD#kf

Is there any difference between a Gigabyte 1050ti and a MSI 1050ti?

thank you

Louie

Hi, Louie:

I believe that the 1050ti does not have the supplemental power connector if you get the single fan model.

Quick update if anyone is wondering👍🏼

I bought a MSI 1050ti 4gb OC - https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/geforce-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-oc.html

Works perfectly with the 8200 Mini Tower and doesn’t need a 6 pin connector from the PSU so it’s work fine.

thanks for all help Paul!
