I have a n00b question apologies
Victus TG02-1013na, GeForce RTX 4060, Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM 1TB SSD - Gaming Desktop
is it easy to install additional RAM? i havent opened it up so i dont know
1) whether it has a spare empty slot for RAM
2) what type of RAM can it take? i assume it has to be the same manfucturer and type of the existing RAM?

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-1000i (6V9R9AV) can be fitted with up to 2x32GB of DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz, Non-ECC, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks -not that you would need that much RAM anyway.
From what I gather online, your PC is fitted with a single 16GB RAM stick, with HP p/n: L82038-001. Why don't you open up your case and take a peek?
Yes, in a perfect world I would recommend getting an identical RAM stick.
However, looking at eBay-UK, you can't purchase one of these RAM sticks for anywhere close to a decent pricing, and if you were to purchase it via HP, the US pricing is an obscene $185.78 (£146.37) -no, I kid you not.
Plan B -so to speak, would be to get as similar a 16GB RAM stick as possible, such as the Crucial Pro 16GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM with p/n: CP16G4DFRA32A or the Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 UDIMM with p/n: CT16G4DFRA32A.

Hi there- thank you for such a helpful reply.
I've tried to open my desktop to check the RAM situation and i couldnt even get the case off! Any idea what type of screwdriver it takes. I assume its the red circle screw i need to remove?
Would these be suitable for additional RAM in terms of would my computer accept it? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-2x16GB-3200MT-Desktop-CP2K16G4DFRA32A/dp/B0C29R9LNL?th=1 obviously i only have space for one slot so the other 16GB of RAM wwould go to waste but there doesnt appear to be any providers selling just one 16GB of suitable RAM.
Thanks again

To remove the top panel of your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-1000i, you'll need a so-called Torx T15 screwdriver. HP commonly uses T15 Torx screws in their desktop models for securing panels.
Before proceeding, ensure you power down the computer and disconnect all cables. Place the unit on a stable surface. Use the T15 screwdriver to carefully remove the screw securing the top panel, then slide or lift the panel off as designed.
Here is a useful YouTube video, see timestamp 1:34: (2876) Upgrading the Cheapest HP Victus 15L Desktop GPU, SSD, PSU & RAM Stock VS Upgraded PC - YouTu....
And yes, that is exactly the RAM you need.

hi there
The torx 15 screwdriver was absolutely spot on! Got the back off within 20 seconds.
This is the RAM i currently have.
Would the one i liked to on amazon still work for this or is there a better alternative??

So this one from amazon gives is cheaper and gives 2 16GB RAM but i'm always worried as last time i added more RAM (a two decades ago) it killed the PC https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-2x16GB-3200MT-Desktop-CP2K16G4DFRA32A/dp/B0C29R9LNL?th=1
This looks like my existing one for £66?

what do you think?

The best alternative would be to buy an identical Micron 16GB DDR4 PC4-25600, Non-ECC, UDIMM, 288-pin (p/n: MTA8ATF2G64AZ-3G2F1) RAM stick, but I couldn't find one -at least not via eBay-UK or Amazon-UK.
Something I would try, is this similar 16GB RAM stick via Amazon-UK, yours for less than 20 quid: Lexar UDIMM 16GB DDR4 RAM 3200 MHz, 288-Pin DDR4 U-DIMM Desktop Memory, High-Performance Computer Me.... I believe this RAM stick will work just fine, and if for whatever reason it doesn't, well, you can easily return it to Amazon and getting your money back.

Correct, watch the RAM notches and push straight down until it goes 'snap' twice on either side: and again, watch the YouTube video I posted earlier at timestamp 6:40: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKyLdGMqezw&ab_channel=TechNitWit.
