HP Compaq Elite 8300 Small Form Factor PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

Im wanting to buy an ssd for my desktop, and im wondering if my ssd would fit. It is a SanDisk SSD PLUS 240GB Solid State Drive. I have a HP Compaq Elite 8300 Small Form Factor PC. Also, can i keep my old one in? or do i have to replace it? Or if there is a cheaper ssd you know of that has a decent amount of space, (240GB and up) please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

Hi.

You can dock your SSD, from your old equipment with a special bay, here you have cheap SSD:

https://es.aliexpress.com/store/product/lowest-price-60GB-120GB-240GB-SSD-2-5-Solid-state-drive-hard...

Bay SSD :

Regards.

The following specs says it has

  • External: (1) 13.33 cm (5.25 in), (1) 8.89 cm (3.5 in)
  • Internal: (1) 8.89 cm (3.5 in)

Machine has 3.5" bays and normall SSD's are 2.5" therefore physically you need 2.5" to 3.5" frame/adapter:

Many are simpler and cheaper.

Thanks. I will look at those. So I would need a special mounting station for my ssd? Or is that just so i can keep my old one?

As mentioned above, some are very simple and the one from BB is ok.
