Pavillion 23-q150na

Hi all, this is my first post on the forum. I have a 23-q150na all in one and would like to upgrade my ram but can't find any information on what voltage the ram requires on the motherboard. Do I get DDR3 or DDR3L ram, I believe the Motherboard is a quanta Crusher-U, according to HP Specs page, but it doesn't list the voltage. Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

You're very welcome.

If the report is giving you the 1.35V spec, then you must use DDR3L (1.35V)  memory, not DDR3 (1.5V).

Hi:

I have zipped up and attached below, a free utility that will tell you in depth details about the memory in your PC.

It will give you the voltage spec amongst other things.

Close out of the summary report window, and on the left side of the program click to expand the memory info.

Then on the right side of the window, you will see a Module Nominal Voltage report.  It should say 1.5V if the memory is 1.5V or it will say 1.5V, 1.35V if the memory is DDR3L

Hi there Paul

thank you very much for your reply and of course the zip file containing the HWinfo application. I did as you said and the nominal voltage shows Module Nominal Voltage (VDD): 1.5 V, 1.35 V for both 4gb modules. Sorry if i'm stating the obvious but I guess that i can fit DDR3 or DDR3L ram to the motherboard. Do you recommend the low power modules over the 1.5v ones.

Thanks in advance.
