has an option of 16GB, how do you ensure that you get 2x8GB instead of 1x16GB , so that you get the extra boost from dual channel.

 

The specs are not definitive, and there seems to be nowhere to make the request on the order.

i would be very supprised if you got a single 16 gb stick as the contract OEM pricing is a fair bit higher for a 16gb module as opposed to a 8gb module

 

in other words  two 8gb modules will cost HP less than a single GB module

 

also the motherboard in this system takes 32gb max and has 4 memory slots so 16gb modules don't really make much sense

But how can I be sure?  I do not want to be surpised.  There is nowhere in the order basket where you can make a request.
