Hello,

I asked for help here about 1 month ago concerning upgrading my PSU, and received some helpful replies. I have a non-standard motherboard and non-standard PSU, which means I cannot, without some jerry-rigging, install a standard commercial PSU to my system.

I was advised to buy the HP L04618-800  from the HP Part Surfer. Unfortunately for me I am not American (UK) and cannot seem to order any parts to my country for whatever reason. I phoned HP this morning as was told they did not support upgrades or buying new proprietary parts from themselves, which clearly isn't true. I tried going through HP's 3rd party companies to see if they had this item in stock and alas, they do not.

I really am at my witts end, I feel like it is practically impossible to upgrade this machine. I wish to install a 1050Ti, or something similar, to help with Machine Learning I do at university, i fear this will be impossible.

If anyone could give me some advice or point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.

Thank you

We have the same motherboard the only difference is that I have a 310W PSU and yours is 180W...Yes true you cant easily find parts..have you tried looking on Ebay.uk? just a thought...

I am affraid there is not much you can do to upgrade it...except buying another motherboard and install all the components there...at least these are my thoughts after the warranty expires

Thank you for your reply,

Yes I have tried eBay, but unfortunately, I cannot find the one I'm after, or any with a supply >210-240W sadly. I shall continue to look there though! I feel like buying a new motherboard and reinstalling all the components is more hassle than its worth, but needs be, that's always an option.

Thank you once again.
