OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-3000i (A58QTAV)

I recently bought an HP Omen 45L (Product number: B93MWEA) and it comes with a 2TB NVMe-m2 drive.  I would like to add a second NVMe-m2 (a samsung 900 proc) but I can't find a second NVMe-m2 slot, can you tell me where to find it? If there is no second NVMe-m2 slot how can add a second solid state drive?

@Rick-lx,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I believe your OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-3000i is fitted with the WildheartOC motherboard (SSID: 8CF3).

This motherboard has two M.2 NVMe SSD slots, the M.2 slot closest to your processor is a Gen 5.0 slot, whereas the second M.2 slot (see illustration) is a Gen 4.0 slot.

This means that you should use the Gen 5.0 slot as your primary (boot) drive, and the second M.2 slot as a secondary storage drive.

You could even install a third M.2 NVMe SSD drive, by using the PCIe x4 slot with a PCIe to M.2 NVMe SSD adapter, such as this Amazon-Spain purchase example: GLOTRENDS PA09-HS Adaptador M.2 NVMe a PCIe 4.0 X4 con disipador M.2, para SSD M.2 NVMe 2280/2260/22...:

Thanks much, I found it.

By the way, what about the heat the nvme will generate? is it a problem that is below the GPU? or may actually good is has some air flow due to the ventilation of the gpu.

Or it might be good to use an m2 cable to position it outside?

@Rick-lx,

Outstanding!

Generally speaking, the heat generated in a secondary M.2 NVMe SSD is minimal, but to be sure, I would add a low-profile heatsink to it, such as seen in this Amazon-Spain link: https://www.amazon.es/GRAUGEAR-refrigeraci%C3%B3n-compatible-almohadillas-G-M2HS02/dp/B09L1GLQRB/ref....
