Pavilion Elite 130.fr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello there,

After many year of loyal operation my HP Pavilion Elite 130.fr collapsed and this time it is the mother board, so I think it rings the end of the story.

During 12 years I made many upgrades : more RAM, 2 1TB SSD, new graphic card, USB 3.0 PSI card, on so on. And it ran perfecttly Windows 10 X64 at the last release.

My question is very basic : what could be a good choice to replace it in the current available HP range ?

I look for similar or better performances, good SSD capacity (2 TB if possible). I am running picture edition softwares like Photoshop, Video edition softwares, some games (not very greedy) and for the rest, Office product, Internet, ...

On last point, as I live in France, I would appreciate if it is available in my country !

Thank you very much !

Guy.

Now new machines come out every second week. 12-year time is too long.

For laptop, please try

Note: I bought an HP Omen 15" machine around end of August 2018, 2 weeks before my retirement. I normally use it twice a month to edit photos and videos of my grand children. I'm happy with it and my plan is to keep it for another 1.5 years (total 4 years).

For desktop, please try:

Hello
Models may not be available from country to country, and you will need to order in France anyway.

A tip compare the models, check the reviews by searching the net, see even here
For the moment I do not recommend the new models (20 l 30 l), users report too many overheating problems

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/bd-p/GamingDesktops

I think you want to stay with a tower, avoid them all in one, not very scalable!
That said, in HP towers, it is better to choose a model, not needing to add afterwards.
sometimes force to change the power supply, for another graphics card, not always easy / possible

At the moment, I haven't found much (for me) interesting on the HP store.

Also try to search the net For me the best range so far, no longer made I think, but we must find some models

@Banhien,

Hello and thank you for your reply !

I should have been more precise in my initial post, because I have a very powerful professional screen for photo editing, I look for a tower model.

Hello Prométhé,

Yes you are right, I am looking for a tower model (to replace my tower...), and yes I would appreciate not to have to change / add parts afterwards.

Thank you for the links in the French store. I will follow your advise, based on the model you highlight to find a comparative survey on the different models currently available.

Have a great day !

Guy.

Again check, but there I can not find anything interesting, maybe by doing different searches
But it seems to me that not new, the models are quickly withdrawn on the HP store FR
if not, maybe in the pro department

Did you actually check:

       https://store.hp.com/sg-en/default/buying-guide-video-editing-desktop

       https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/tech-takes/best-hp-desktops-video-editing

As I said before, you can't compare 12 yours old machine with a new generation machine. You just select one machine to suit your need. All new desktops for photos/videos editing should work with any very powerful professional screen

Hello Banhein,

Thank you for this complementary information.

I have been to your links, a well as to those provided by Prométhée, but unfortunately didn't find an answer to my current need.

This time, my next PC will not be an HP.

Thank you for your help and for your time.

Guy.
