Which power cord should I buy for my 3.5" 1TB Hard Drive?
I bought an HP EliteDesk G3. Inside I've already put my 2.5" 1TB SSD and using it fine.
I need a power cord for my 3.5" 1TB drive for it.
I've seen various ones on ebay like 8pin to 10pin, etc...
Exactly which one do I need?
If someone can link me to one on eBay, that would be great too!
Michael

All you need is a SATA 3 data cable of good quality and appropriate length.
I know it is a data cable because of the color of the header you mentioned on the motherboard.
HP does not often provide a parts list for the original parts.
Sometimes you can use the desktop PC serial number in the HP PartSurfer to get a specific part from the parts database.

Do you mean an externally powered enclosure or adapter?
There is no such thing as a "power cord" for a 3.5" hard disk.
Describing it as "3.5" 1TB" isn't quite specific enough.
Can you provide a brand and part number from hard disk?

I'm talking about an intenal 3.5" HD I have. It has a data cable and another cord, that I thought is called a power cord. The cord I need is the one that goes from the HD to the blue connector in the computer.
In this image, I need the cord that goes from HD to the blue connectors on the main board.

OK.
The cable with its connectors is the power cable of the 2.5" SATA cable set.
Lets talk specificity again.
There is a number after the word Elitedesk which says which series the PC is and then there is the G3 which denotes the generation and series.
You have not provided the first part of providing the Elitedesk series as you did not divulge the number.

ok, I ordered this one - hope it will work

The blue connection on the motherboard means that it is SATA3.
I would have ordered one that was SATA3 and with one end straight and the other at ninety degrees.
The one you ordered has two ninety degree connections.
Both ends of the SATA cable with ninety degree connectors probably will be unlikely to fit on your motherboard.
You can order the one that will work at better quality on Amazon or eBay.
