@danukachathu,

You have a proprietary HP 320 watt power supply (p/n: 613764-001) which has just enough juice to power a low profile/low power/PCIe X16-powered GTX 1650 4GB graphics card with two HDMI ports, such as offered for purchase here: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 Video Card GV-N1656OC-4GL - Newegg.com. This is the most powerful GPU that will work with your 320 watt PSU.  However, the problem is that this card only has 4GB of GDDR6 RAM onboard.

So, the problem is your power supply.  You need more power in order to make any decent 8GB+ graphics card work on your CMT.  You can resolve the power issue by using a "24 Pin to 6 Pin ATX Power Adapter Cable", specifically this one: Amazon.com: COMeap 24 Pin to 6 Pin ATX Power Adapter Cable for HP Z220 Z230 SFF MT TWR Series 4000 6... to allow to hook up an industry standard ATX power supply to your desktop. I used this converter myself for one of my Legacy HP Desktop Upgrade Projects, an HP Pro 6300 SFF.

[EDIT:] I left an Amazon consumer review on the aforementioned Amazon link under "Viewmont", plus some pictures which you'll also find in the HP User Forum link below:

To make a long story short, and what is involved, here is my link how it is done: (1) Solved: Upgrading HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF - HP Support Community - 8184303.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the quick reply.

It's hard to find the  GTX 1650 4GB graphics card in the market! , Now i'm trying a card with one HDMI + Display port

Will it work with my HP?

GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti D5 4G

@danukachathu,

Yes, your CMT can handle the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti D5 4GB power wise just fine.  However, you'll have to carefully measure if the GTX 1050 Ti card's size dimensions (W=30 mm x L=172 mm x H=113 mm) or: Width=1.2 inches x Length=6.8 inches x Height=4.5 inches) will physically fit inside your HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT chassis -especially look at the height and length of the card measured from your PCIe X16 slot, and whether it touches any PC components, and if it allows your top panel to fit.

[EDIT:] Looking at your chassis (please verify: am I looking at the correct desktop picture), the GTX 1050 Ti should fit just fine:

YOU ALSO HAVE ANOTHER OPTION

your PC system came with several cpu options, all of which were the stock  95 watt ones

https://www.google.com/search?q=HP+Compaq+8200+Elite+quickspecs&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS1004US1004&sxsrf=ALi...

95 watt cpu

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/52213/intel-core-i72600-processor-8m-cache-up-t...

however intel also made compatible 65 watt ones which are denoted by a "S" in the model name

65 watt

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/52215/intel-core-i72600s-processor-8m-cache-up-...

replacing the 95 watt cpu with a 65 watt one will give you 30 more watts to use with a video card, and if you use a SSD instead of a mechanical HD, you will save a few more watts (and have a faster system!)

are  you are willing to invest the time/money in doing this upgrade on your current system just to run a faster video card,?

it may make more sense if you are not skilled in hardware upgrades' just to replace the existing system with a newer "used" computer (that may come with a useable video card)  that has better hardware and is a  normal tower design that can take most video cards

@DGroves,

I don't think a 30 watt power gain (and offset by a net loss of computing power: UserBenchmark: Intel Core i7-2600 vs i7-2600S) would make any performance difference for having a GTX 1650 4GB or a GTX 1050 Ti D5 4GB installed in this desktop.

Swapping an HDD for an SSD: definitely, yes.

The HP WorkStation Z400 is certainly a good suggestion, but not with a Xeon W3530 installed, which compares not all that great compared with @danukachathu's i7-2600: UserBenchmark: Intel Core i7-2600 vs Xeon W3530.  You would have to purchase a Xeon W3680 to create a substantially more powerful system, but regardless, speaking of processor stock wattage, either Xeon processor sports a whopping 130 watt TDP.

all of the cpu's that the 8300 can use come in the low power "S" versions also this includes the faster cpu's, I simply picked  the 2600 because it was the first in my search,  and i would not take your benchmark as the gold standard as all benchmarks are somewhat inaccurate, compared to running a real use application

as a example the i5-2400s is almost as fast as your i7-2600, (13% difference) due to the frequency being the same the only difference is the i7's onboard larger cache which really does not make much difference in many programs

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-2600-vs-Intel-Core-i5-2400S/620vsm304

and again, the z400 was simply the first system i found that was cheap, came with a better video card than the "OP" now has and had a installed cpu/ram making it a turnkey system

@DGroves,

I don't disagree at all with you that the HP 8200 Elite CMT upgrading potential is, well, at the high end of marginal.

Here's to date the best scoring HP 8200 Elite CMT I could find: HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT Performance Results - UserBenchmark, and as you can see this rig -not surprisingly, is fitted with an i7-2700, plus a GTX 1660-Ti and an SSD as its boot drive.  Overall scored pretty decent, in my opinion.

Yes indeed, at some point one would have to consider switching to a more powerful PC platform. In that case, in addition to your Z400, the "OP" may consider the very affordably priced (especially if you're on a tight budgetZ420HP Z420 Intel Xeon E5-1620 3.6GHz Workstation 8GB Ram DVDRW ATI FirePro V4900 | eBay or an 8300 Elite CMTHP Compaq 8300 Elite CMT Intel Core i5-3570 @ 3.40GHz 4GB RAM 500GB HDD DVDRW | eBay.
