If the system freezes and needs to be rebooted there is a real problem
Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.

Do the updates complete?  If it freezes or slows down terribly and then recovers after the update installs you might not have enough memory or need to schedule the install for when it is not being used.

You might want to bring up the event viewer and look for timeouts and anything related to download failure.

BeemerBiker- That's just it I cannot  Run Diagnostics!  I even logged on my HP account and every time it Cancels. But I will try the ESC button after powering on and see if that works !  I will keep you posted. Also everything that gets updated installs. I just don't understand why it won't let me Browse on websites while its Updating!

When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook or desktop PC
