HP Pavilion 590-p0103wb
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP 590-p0103wb, and I want to put a GPU in the PC but I don't know if my PSU has pins to connect to the GPU, the GPU I'm getting is an RTX 3050 Low Powered version with 75 watts of power consumption and the CPU I have is a Ryzen 3 2200G with a power consumption of 65 watts, will I be able to connect my PSU to my GPU?

@PulsarxD,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

According to HP's specs, your HP Pavilion 590-p0103wb (2HL03AA) is fitted with a 180-watt power supply -please verify.

The issue is that a low-power aka Low-Profile RTX 3050, such as this one, with a TDP of 70-watt, still requires at least a 250-watt power supply.

You can upgrade your power supply to a 400-watt unit, with part number: L04618-800, which is also equipped with an 8-pin PCIe power cable in case you would like to upgrade your PC with one of the smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060, such as this one.  But I digress.

In any regards, you'll almost certainly need a power supply upgrade to avoid damaging your electronic componenrts for lack of power in your system.

You can purchase one of these 400-watt power supplies online, such as via this top rated and trusted eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155585566114?_skw=HP+L04618-800&itmmeta=01JDXSJKZBX16DYCDMY9VTQF0B&hash=ite....

One more thing: if you haven't done so already, I would recommend upgrading your processor as well to an AMD Ryzen 7 2700.  This is the best processor compatible with your Sunflower motherboard (SSID: 8433).

You can purchase one of these CPUs starting around $60 via eBay, such as this purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174821081940?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.S....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
