Pavilion 570-P020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought an HP Pavilion 570-p020 this past week, and I want to install an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti card.  I tweeted at HP's Support Twitter, who directed me to email sales support, and they said after checking with their techs that the GTX 1050 Ti would fit.  So I bought the computer.

I still don't have the GPU, but I opened up the computer to check to see if it would fit.  The card is a dual-width card, and while there are indeed two slots on the back of the computer to accommodate such a card, there are two sets of wires plugged into the motherboard that are really close to the second slot.  I'm worried that those wires will be in the way of the GPU fan.

Does anyone know if a dual-width card like the GTX 1050 Ti will fit?

Hi,

This EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1050TI should fit and has the correct power requirements for your PC.  I suggest that you measure inside to confirm the needed clearances.  Review this posted article.

That's the card I'm looking at, and I read the post you linked.  My concern is the two sets of wires plugged into the motherboard that are really close to the second slot.  I don't know if the fan would be high enough to avoid the wires, or if they would get in the way.  I could take a photo of the inside of the computer if that would help.  I just didn't know if anyone familiar with this model would have any information on if a dual-width card like this would fit.

Hi,

Post the photo and I will take a look at those two wires.

@Zeikcied

Very nice and clear photo!:smileyhappy:

Perhaps you should consider a single slot graphics card.  This Inno3D GTX 1050TI is a single slot card. Measure inside your PC to make sure that it will fit (width and length). It calls for a 400 watt power supply.

So, a dual-slot card won't fit?

I wanted to get the card from Best Buy, and all they have for the GTX 1050 Ti are EVGA models that are dual-slot.  I'm quite disappointed right now. 😞

Zeikcied - What did you end up doing? I found this thread because like you, I'm looking at this HP desktop - everything about it fits my needs aside from the graphics card.

I ended up returning it and getting a different brand computer.  I decided it wasn't worth the hassle of searching out a single-slot card, and possibly having to upgrade the power supply, too, just to get this system to do what I want.

I doubt I can say here what computer I got and from where, given this is the HP support forum.

I was rather disappointed.  HP has been a good brand for me, but one dumb design choice (having two slots but then obstructing the second slot so it can't be used) ruined things.

That's a shame it didn't work. Thank you for responding. I really liked the specs of the computer other than the graphics card. I'll keep looking too 😄
