Hp pavilion P6733w

I checked the upgrade tab and AMD Phenom II X4 9xx is listed as compatible, but when I installed the CPU I get an error message that this cpu is not supported and computer will shut down. I have also upgraded the power supply to a 450w.

@Harlo56 , welcome to the forum.

The Black series processors are not always compatible with the HP motherboards.  Your processor requires 125W to operate properly.  There is no mention of wattage in the specs for your motherboard, but I believe the TDP for the AMD Phenom II X2 511 is 65W.  This may be the problem.
