Hi Nathna,

I can't see any mention of any of the E5-16xx series CPU's in the HP Z820 Quickspecs,  and there are no HP Z820 systems listed on the Passmark website with E5-16xx CPU's. I've also had a quick search of the forum but can't find any mention of any of the E5-16xx CPU's being installed in a HP Z820? As a general rule, if the CPU isn't listed in the latest HP Quickspecs, then the CPU is NOT supported, i.e. the computer won't even boot. (The BIOS code contains a 'whitelist' of compatible/certified CPU's).

HP Z620 - Liquid Cooled E5-1680v2 @4.7GHz / 64GB Hynix PC3-14900R 1866MHz / GTX1080Ti FE 11GB / Quadro P2000 5GB / Samsung 256GB PCIe M.2 256GB AHCI / Passmark 9.0 Rating = 7147 / CPU 17461 / 2D 1019 / 3D 14464 / Mem 3153 / Disk 15451 / Single Threaded 2551

That particular processor is not listed as supported in the documentation but there are many other listed compatible V2 processors for this system and I would tend to stick with one that has been tested and certified for this chassis, although I understand that sometimes a deal comes along on a one off processor.

Thanks for the reply. But im wondering if anyone knows if the 1680 can go into it. I have seen on other threads on this forum that people have but e5-16xx into the z820.
