Hi:

Either one should work, but the WD Blue SN580 will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from your notebook's Gen 3.0 SSD slot.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the SSD removal and replacement procedure.

What will the WD Blue SN580 run at then?

HP Recommended

The fastest speed you can hope for out of a PCIe Gen 3 slot is around 3,500 MBPS.

Will it still be able to run at 16gb/s the WD that is?

Also, which one is faster of the two? HP or WD?

HP Recommended

There is no drive that I know of that runs at 16 GB/S yet.

The fastest drive on the market that I know of has a max read speed of 7,000 MBPS (7 GB/S).

The two NVMe drives you posted will probably perform about the same.

The HP drive has an advertised read speed of 3,300 MBPS.

The WD Blue drive has a max read speed of 4,150 MBPS but that is at the Gen 4 speed and as I posted earlier, you can't expect it to run beyond 3,500 MBPS from the Gen 3 SSD slot.
