HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I would like to know if Windows 10Pro will work on my HP Envy 23-d030 All-in-One Desktop.  Is there a test program?  If yes, where can I download it?

@Laddyboy125, welcome to the forum.

Here is what it says in this guide:

"If you purchased your computer prior to August 2013, HP has not tested or developed drivers for your computer model. Some features might not work, or the installation might not be successful."

Your computer was released 3-October-2012.  Therefore, it is not a guaranty that it will work.

the main issue for windows 10 is the video driver, your system came with a intergrated (via the cpu)  Intel HD 2000 graphics

and this video display has no windows 10 support

the system also had a optional descrete MXM 3.0 ver A video card option. If you have this video option you might be able to install windows 10 compatable drivers, as all other hardware appears to be win 10 compatable

this card should work, it's a "A" card and has win 10 drivers, but i don't know if it is supported by your systems Bios so buy from a vender that has a return policy

just remember you require the shorter "A" card not the bigger "B" MXM card

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=hp+mxm+card&_sacat=0

open device manager, and under the "video"  setting expand it and tell us what you see if it does not say intel 200, if it does say intel 200 then , a win 10 upgrade is not possible untill you install win 10 compatable MXM video card

Without a factory installed card, your computer will most likely have the incorrect heatsink/fan assembly for the addition of the MXM card. You would need to source a compatible MXM card, and possibly the proper HSF/thermal assembly, (you may allready have the HSF)

looking at the HP parts surfer website may provide the part numbers for this

and this video link while not for your specific model will give you a general idea what's involved

Hi,

You should have no problem installing Windows 10 on your system. I have installed on much older sytems without problems. Windows will automatically provide a graphics driver for your CPU. Anyway, you can download the media creation tool, run and create a bootable pendrive with Windows 10 OS on it. You do not need a product key to do this. You can create another partititon on your hard drive and install Windows. This way you can see if all works well. If all works well you can buy a product key, you can find them for cheap on online stores such as Amazon. You can then reinstall Windows 10 and this time use the whole hard drive (eliminating the old OS).

Hope it helps,

David
