Hi I have an HP ENVY-17t-ce100 CTO running on Windows 10 Pro and currently version 22H2. I  have lost access to my camera and in scramble mode accidentally firmly uninstalled it from the device manager. I am trying to get it back and functioning but it says the driver will not work for this version of Windows (22H2) as it is not an option to choose from to even get to the package page where I can download the software to run the camera. If anyone knows how to get this functionality back and if 22H2 will likely cause other issues, especially within the device manager, I am all ears. I am not a huge tech guy so anything helps!

@Aje31, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Install HP Support Assistant

Go to: HP Support Assistant Download

Download and install it.

Open it and let it scan your system.

It should find and install the missing camera driver.

Use Device Manager

Press Windows + X → click Device Manager.

At the top, click View → check "Show hidden devices".

Look under Cameras or Imaging devices.

If camera shows up, right-click it → choose Uninstall.

Then click Action → Scan for hardware changes.

Restart your PC.

Check HP Drivers Manually

Go to: HP ENVY - 17t-ce100 CTO Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Select Windows 10 as your OS.

Download any camera or imaging device driver.

If it won’t install, right-click the installer → Properties → Compatibility tab → Run in Windows 8 mode.

Use Windows Update

Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.

Click Check for updates.

Sometimes this will find and install the driver.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
