Pavilion Slimline s5-1126
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got Windows 10 sometime last year, had "upgraded" from Windows 7 which my unit came with (got it around 2012 I believe) anyway have had endless problems with this, did a complete wipe in January this year and reinstall, however still having problems.  Called MS today after getting a message everytime computer starts: "Another Instance is Running" "Configuration system failed to initialize"  they got me to go onto HP website where we discovered that there was NO OPTION of having Windows 10 on my system, nor any updated drivers!!!  No wonder I'm having so many issues!  Please help if you can ~ I really don't care to go back to Windows 7 now, could cause even more problems in the long run, but find it hard to believe that HP wouldnt have updated drivers for Windows 10 for my system!

Thanks~

Hi:

HP never supported your model series for W10, which is why there are no drivers listed for it on the support page.

Any PC manufactured prior to August of 2013 is not supported for W10.

Yours was released to market in September of 2011.

I looked up the specs for your model and W10 should have installed all of the drivers for the hardware it comes with.

So, the only suggestion I can offer would be to reinstall W10 and hope that fixes any issues your PC has.

You can find the individual hardware component drivers on the component manufacturer's websites.

You may want to install the latest W10 chipset driver directly from AMD that they have for your model.

Chipset:  Install and restart the PC.  You want the 1st file listed on the webpage.

Graphics:  If W10 does not install the graphics driver automatically, this is the only alternative method to install the driver...

Audio:  Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 2nd file listed on the webpage and restart the PC.

Ethernet:  Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 driver at the link below...

package contains the driver installation package for the Mediatek (Ralink) wireless LAN Controller in the supported  models running a supported operating system.
