I may need to buy another wifi card/chip as it's the main connector that is damaged, sadly. For the moment I am going to have to wait until the new wires arrive from China and then I will consider how best to approach the task. It might have been a whole lot simpler to have purchased a USB wifi dongle for the limited number of times I may end up needing to use the wifi back up solution 🤔

Yes, a USB Wi-Fi adapter is certainly the easiest option to add Wi-Fi.
This was the one I bought for the PC I had mentioned earlier in this discussion.
It works with W11 too.

Hi Paul,
Well, after waiting two weeks for the extended length antennae wire to ship in from China, I finally had the chance today to open the PC back up and have another go at fitting those pesky little wires. Sad to say, I was unable to get either new connector to snap on, the main one was in a very poor state on the chip due to my abortive attempts previously. However, I positioned them in place and using a Blu-Tack blob as a jig, I then carefully dropped a bead of hot melt glue onto the two connectors and secured them "on top of" the fixing points. With bated breath I re-assembled the PC, connected the two external antennae (nuisance as they were then fouling the Display Cable plugs/leads due to their location), powered the PC back up and to my absolute delight, saw the WIRELESS function show up as AVAILABLE.
I have now successfully tethered my 5G mobile to the card and have been able to achieve a download speed in excess of 275Mb, which is more than enough to make me smile!!! So, perseverance and a bit of fudging got me there, but boy oh boy, those micro-micro connectors are the world's worst, I shall be avoiding those in the future that's for sure!
Thank you for all your assistance along the way, very much appreciated.
