HP wireless keyboard
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello, I recently acquired a really nice wireless keyboard and no  Dunkel receiver. I can’t find ID number or model number.  Is there someway or someplace else to obtain this information. Thanks Tony.

Hi @ToddlTony,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with connecting your new wireless keyboard.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

All the wireless keyboard require a USB dongle to connect it to the devices.

Usually the wireless dongle will be either in the box or in the battery compartment.

Please check the box through before discarding it.

If your wireless keyboard didn't come with a USB receiver, it’s likely that it uses Bluetooth. Here’s how you can set it up:

Check for Bluetooth: Make sure your computer or device has Bluetooth capability. Most modern laptops and many desktops do.

Power On the Keyboard: Turn on the keyboard if it has a power switch. Sometimes, you might need to press a button to enable pairing mode.

Enter Pairing Mode: Look for a pairing button on the keyboard. If there isn’t one, check the user manual for instructions on how to enter pairing mode.

Pairing the Keyboard:

  • On your computer, go to the Bluetooth settings (often found in Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices).
  • Turn Bluetooth on if it’s not already.
  • Click on "Add Bluetooth or other device," then select "Bluetooth."
  • Your computer will search for nearby devices. When your keyboard appears, select it to pair.

If you can’t find the model number, check for any labels on the keyboard itself, often located on the bottom or inside the battery compartment. You might also find information in the original packaging or documentation if you have it.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
