My wireless keyboard will not connect to the USB receiver after the latest software update, but the mouse still works. I have tried using a different port for the receiver, restarting, reconnecting, and it wont let me go to the previous update. I have even tried a different wireless keyboard and mouse and its the same thing where mouse works but keyboard doesn't. How do I remedy this? HP wont talk virtually because my computer is not under warranty anymore.

When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.
When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
If you can't log into Windows, look on the bottom of your notebook for that information.
If you have a desktop look at the rear of your PC

Thanks.
If the mouse works, but the keyboard doesn't, I would consider replacing the batteries with fully charged ones.
Pair the keyboard with the dongle again.
Is there a part number on the wireless keyboard?
Was the latest software update one for Windows? Which version? 10 or 11?
What kind of update? A Windows build update or one for hardware?

The mouse doesn't work. I have tried a new batteries in the keyboard, uninstalling/reinstalling, and I've tried using a different wireless keyboard from another older HP all in one I have and that one didn't work either, but that keyboard works fine on the old PC it came with. It's definitely something to do with the PC itself after the update was automatically installed, because it worked perfect before. The older PC had an update happen the same day and that one the mouse is jumpy when I scroll and I can't get it to recalibrate correctly, but at least in the meantime I have a keyboard on that one to use until the newer one is fixed.

Ok.
I would reinstall the latest drivers for your PC.

Hi,
Try this with the original keyboard you lost connectivity to:
Hold new the keyboard very close to the PC.
Turn off the keyboard. Hold down the F2, F3 and f4 keys simultaneously and power on the keyboard.
There should be a blinking led on the keyboard somewhere.
When the led starts to flash at a different rate, let go of the keys and it should be paired. (less than 10 seconds)
