Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A wireless keyboard and mouse combo (1 dongle) were included with the purchase of my All in One PC in July 2020. The left hand button became less than receptive a few months ago but was still workable until today when it will not respond at all. The cursor and right hand button work normally.

I can swap the buttons over and the right button will function as a left but it´s awkward and then I still only have 1 functioning button. Fortunately it´s a touchscreen so I can make do & the keyboard is fine.

All drivers are updated.

Any options  or fixes ?

And/ or is there anyway to replace a mouse within a combo (in order to conserve usb ports)?

Or to link a new mouse to the existing dongle?

Thanks in advance, !

Mouse is damaged.  Possibly taking it apart and cleaning might work but I suspect a supporting plastic part got broken.

Some of the HP wireless devices are "universal" and you can buy a replacement mouse that uses the same dongle.

Make sure your devices have the 5 arrow logo for "link-5"

A picture of the 5 arrows is here to help  identify.

If you do NOT have a link-5 mouse then you need to buy a new mouse with a new dongle.

If you do not see the 5 arrow logo then look the keyboard or mouse part number up here

https://partsurfer.hp.com

and see if it is link-5 certified

Look at the mouse for a part number.  For example HP 2LX92AA

it is a link-5 mouse as spec'ed here

Take the part number from your broken mouse and look it up. at that partsurfer site. or at amazon or ebay

or post the part numbers here and I will try to see if they are link5 certified

Thank you. It unfortunately doesn't have the link 5 symbol, I think it's an el cheapo. The keyboard has the HP logo but I'm struggling to even find a part number for the  mouse 🙂
But thank you very much for taking the time to reply, I learned something !
