Product: HP Envy

I bought 2 X 32G sticks of RAM for my envy from the memory stock site.  The utility on the site says 64G is max for

TE020000iCTO, I'm wondering if this means max expansion of 64 G, plus the 16 that come installed on the machine?  Or is 64G the total max, with 2 slots needing to be empty?

You are correct: your HP ENVY Desktop PC TE02-0000i can be fitted up to a maximum of 2 x 32GB DDR4 PC4-25600, 3200 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered DIMM, 288-pins RAM sticks, such as shown here: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/envy-te02-0000i#memory.
