I am looking to upgrade to a new PSU that can handle 750watts or whatever the highest I can get without upgrading the motherboard, case, and CPU cooler. All I know is that the motherboard is the RenoR 8B3B motherboard. I currently have 32gb of 3200Mhz RAM, a Quadro P620, and an i5-14400. Thanks for the help.

The RenoR motherboard (SSID: 8B3B), as installed, for example, in an HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-4xxx or an HP ENVY TE01-4xxx, is compatible with a 650-watt power supply with p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003.

You can buy this power supply online, such as this purchase option via a trusted eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/146700087512?_skw=L57253-003&itmmeta=01K3Q4ZYQKV3Q7VSQG6BKB6W3Q&hash=item22....

Btw, with this 650-watt power supply, you could power up to a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4070 Ti Super, such as this model: MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER VENTUS 2X OC Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.

Should I worry about all the cables? Also if I do end up getting the PSU I would do a 9060xt 16gb or 5060. One thing I am mostly worried about though is if those cables will all be able to plug into the motherboard, cpu cooler, case, etc. What do you think I should do? Max budget for a GPU is 400 but the less the better.

@Notsurewhat,

Should you worry about the cables?  -Not really, you can make things look half decent using some zip-ties and patience.

You can buy an RX 9060 XT 16GB GDDR6 for less than $400, such as this Amazon purchase option: https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11350-03-20G-RadeonTM-Gaming-Graphics/dp/B0F9LN5VZ6/ref=sr_1_2?crid=....

For an identical pricing, you can buy an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GDDR7, such as this Amazon purchase option: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-WINDFORCE-Graphics-GV-N506TWF2OC-8GD/dp/B0F5B8KQJR/ref=sr_1_....

Between these two cards, I would choose the RTX 5060 Ti every day of the week and twice on weekends -better performance too: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-5060-Ti-vs-AMD-RX-9060-XT/4183vsm2417253.

If I can make it any clearer, I do not particularly care for AMD cards.  If you are a gamer, you'll likely know what I mean.

Anyway, on a budget and want to spend almost $100 less? Look no further than this RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 priced just under $300, such as this Amazon purchase option: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-WINDFORCE-Graphics-GV-N5060WF2-8GD/dp/B0F8LPDVPQ/ref=sr_1_1?....

Whatever you do, choose a smaller-sized (dual fan) card, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable.

Incidentally, all of the aforementioned graphics cards can easily be powered by a 500-watt power supply.  The part numbers for a compatible 500-watt power supply for your PC are: L05757-800 or 901759-013.  You can purchase one of these power supplies online via various eCommerce sites including eBay.

@Notsurewhat,

One thing though -in the interest of full disclosure: the latest generation AMD RX 90XX XT and RTX 50XX cards can sometimes be finnicky because BIOS &/or GPU drivers updates are still 'in progress'.  For example, I could not get an RTX 5070 to work in my HP Pavilion TP01-3003w upgrade project, but strangely enough it worked like a charm in my older generation HP Pavilion 590-p0030 upgrade project -sort of hit and miss.  I am also hearing the same experiences for both the latest AMD and Nvidia cards scattered across the gamers board.  Meaning, there is a chance that there could be an issue getting these newest gen cards to run on your HP TX01-4xxx platform.

Therefore, a very robust and proven alternative would be the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GDDR6 priced just under $400, like this Amazon purchase option: Amazon.com: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GDRR6 Boost Clock: 2625 MHz 128-Bit HDMI/DP Nvlink T... -almost identical in graphics performance compared with the newer RX 9060 XT 16GB.

This is also a smaller-sized (dual fan) card, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, and can also be powered by a 500-watt power supply.

Lets say the PSU didn't have the right cables for the case or motherboard connectors or just general stuff like that. What would I do then?

@Notsurewhat,

What do you mean with: "the PSU didn't have the right cables for the case or motherboard connectors or just general stuff like that."  What power supply and what cables are you referring to?  As I pointed out in my earlier posts, depending on what graphics card you choose, you may have to upgrade your power supply as well.  Your PC is not compatible with an industry standard ATX power supply, only HP proprietary power supplies.

I was meaning if one of the cables didn't fit, for example, the motherboard connector, didn't fit, what would I do then? As a hypothetical question of course. I am also refering to the PSU you mentioned earlier in the post, https://www.ebay.com/itm/146700087512?_skw=L57253-003&itmmeta=01K3Q4ZYQKV3Q7VSQG6BKB6W3Q&hash=item22...

@Notsurewhat,

Well, the power supply upgrade options I provided with its power supply cables will all fit just fine on your motherboard, so that is not something you need to worry about.

Second, in the unlikely scenario if something is awry, the Seller provides a relaxed 30-day return policy, and on top of that, the Seller pays for return shipping too.

Ah thank you. You have been a big help. I will probably choose the RTX 5060 unless you have any other suggestions.
