@Player_412,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

The only way you make any ATX-based power supply work in your HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF in the first place, is by using an ATX power adapter specifically specced for your desktop, such as this example found via Amazon-Australia: 24 Pin to 6 Pin ATX Power Adapter Cable for HP Z230 SFF Series 13 inch (33cm) : Amazon.com.au: Elect....

An SFX PSU is smaller and more compact compared to standard ATX power supplies, allowing them to fit into cases with limited space, such as your SFF.  You'll have to measure the SFX's dimensions (LxWxH) to ascertain if it will physically fit in your SFF once you vacated your HP stock power supply.

I am actually trying too make it a sleeper build, so the PSU does have the right connectors.

@Player_412,

I do apologize: not sure what "sleeper build" means (must have been asleep when they taught Sleeper Builds 101), but if you mean could you fit an SFX PSU in your SFF in addition to your stock power supply, the answer is no, you cannot.

A sleeper build is basically throwing the most powerful hardware you can i an old, weak looking office pc, and no, i am looking at a 750w SFX PSU. No stock PSU needed

@Player_412,

Fascinating, never done that before, but it would be interesting to see what you end up with.

In that case (pun intended), I refer back to my original response: "You'll have to measure the SFX's dimensions (LxWxH) to ascertain if it will physically fit in your SFF once you vacated your HP stock power supply."

Hi NonSequitur777,

I know this isn't related to the question but when you have time could you please read my question? It's related to a helpful answer you gave two years ago.

Many thanks,
