Omen by HP Obelisk Gaming Desktop 875-1023
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi: I would like to add a 3 T secondary hard drive into my

HP Obelisk Gaming Desktop Computer 875-1023

It presently has a single T but I am running out of space.

Can I buy any 3.5 inch drive to add to this? Will I need a specific type?   I did try contacting Hp to ask what kind of hard drive I could add, but they never responded. Also will I need to buy additional cables.

I am sorry to ask basic questions but I am new, and have not done this before.

Thanks.

@SugarCookie,

Smart questions before you delve into the case, I really like and admire that.  Thanks 😁

Sending you the service manual, see pg 10. The hard drive tray can hold 2 hard drives. All you need do if find a power lead off the existing hard drive cable, then add a new SATA data cable. (Same length as the existing cable on the other HD).

1) Any manufactured 3.5" HD would mount into the 2nd position. The WD Black. 2TB has a  5 yr warranty.
