Hello. I like the HP sff workstations. Recently I'm planing to build a sff Z2 G4 or G5 in order to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024.

A good GPU is needed and the RTX 5060 lp is the best right now for sff computers.  It needs extra power and from what I understand neither the G4 or G5 have that cable to deliver the extra power to the GPU.

What PSU can I use as I understand there are some options that fit perfectly and are original HP as well ?

Thanks in advance guys.

@Tiridimdimdim,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

I am not sure if the HP Z2 SFF G4 Workstation is compatible with Nvidia's latest RTX 50xx graphics cards -no RTX 50xx are shown in Userbenchmark's link: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-Z2-SFF-G4-Workstation/100950, but for sure the HP Z2 SFF G5 Workstation is compatible with RTX 50xx cards, like this user with a low-profile RTX 5060 -specifically the GIGABYTE RTX 5060 OC Low Profile 8GB GDDR7https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/70505272.

In order to power an RTX 5060 LP, you'll need the 450-watt power supply (p/n: L80890-003 / M09029-003), though I believe other power supply upgrades such as the 500-watt unit with p/n: L77487-003 / L77487-001 / L89233-001 are also compatible. Whatever power supply upgrade you choose, make sure that the PSU's small 7-pin "P2" power connector has at least 6 wires, preferably all 7.

Kind Regards,

Did you manage to try it? Does it work?
