HP Z2 Mini G4 Entry Workstation IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!

Currently my system has an i5 8600 65w CPU.

It is possible to upgrade to an i9 9900 65w CPU? Both have the same socket, same chipset and same wattage. Can be done?

Thank you!

YES, you can: just like this User did: HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Please see what fellow HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation Users have been able to make work: UserBenchmark: HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation Compatible Components.

Thank you!

I saw that benchmark already. This user seems to run a performance z2 mini G4. My question is, the Entry version will support it?

@mjnesteves,

When it says: "HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation Performance Results", it means just that: performance (benchmarking) results of the HP Z2 Mini G4 Workstation.

Please type in: system information in your lower search bar, and click on the System Information app. Look to the right of "BaseBoard Product", and if it says: "8458", you're good to go.

Kind Regards,
